Triage Volunteer

 
Hours Part Time 10am to 1.30pm Weekdays
Reporting to: Volunteer Co-Ordinator
Location: Haverhill
Location: 42 Hollands Road, Haverhill


About the role:

We are looking for volunteers to help with triaging calls for help. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  1. Carrying out initial callbacks to all clients who contact Reach. 
  2. Asking important questions to ascertain the issue(s) 
  3. Issuing emergency food parcels and arranging collection 
  4. Completing the case management system (Advice Pro) with a record of the conversation/attempts of contact. 
  5. Referring onwards to debt and benefit lists 

 

What attributes and skills do you need? 

 

  1. Confident in making phone calls and speaking on the phone 
  2. Confident in asking questions to ascertain particular information 
  3. IT literate and proficient in Microsoft packages 
  4. Good written and verbal communication skills 
  5. Ability to work on own initiative 

 

How much time do you need to commit? 

 

  1. We would like people to commit to at least one morning a week 
  2. We would prefer a minimum commitment of 6 months to the role 

 

What support will you be given? 

 

  1. Appropriate support and supervision in your role, including any training required 
  2. Volunteer Co-ordinator and Advisors will be available to give you support, advice and guidance

You will be required to undergo a basic induction process and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
